MICRO HOUSING Competition

The aim of the open ideas competition was to develop a modular residential building for 100 residents, consisting of residential units of a maximum of 32.5 square metres, each accommodating four residents. What at first appears quite restrictive can become comfortable spaces through implementing an open architecture and flexible division of functions. While the private space serves as a place of retreat and recreation from urban life for the individual, the individual functional areas increasingly open up to the outside to form an ever wider community
